It seems that these days all I do is whine. I have a problem and please don't think that I am cruel hearted. We had our clinicals for our CNA class that is a pre for LPN that I hope to get accepted to in March..anyway, I have been terribly sick so I kinda think that it may have a little to do with the way I feel, but anyways, we had our clincals at a nursing home where I swear to you that you could smell the odor from outside. Don't think that I was not somewhat prepared dor the smell, because I worked at this same facility about 7 years ago, but this day was BAD!!! We went in and the whole floor was sick with a stomach virus, lovely I thought, but anyways my point is I am having second thoughts about the LPN program now, is that horrible or what? HELP me PLEASE what do you think??

Just relax!!!!!!! I know that nursing is the only thing that I want to do, but I would be put off if I went to a facility and it smelled bad too! I would wander, what is going on???? YUCK!
Give yourself a break and don't second guess everything based on one bad experience. Give yourself time.........
Best to you!

I think it is the first of many situations that will smell bad. Mouth breath.
Good luck,

Mouth breathe, like renarian said. It has gotten me through some putrid smelling stuff this semester. :) Please don't give up over that!! Give yourself time to adjust, get some experience under your belt, and then decide if it is right for you.

carry a small jar of vicks and put in under your nose, it does help with odor. I wouldn't throw in the towel yet, as you mentioned you weren't feeling good either.

Definitely use Vicks under your nose....that will all you'll be able to smell. Don't give up over this.....write it off to having a bad day. We ALL have them now & then. And if the whole floor had a stomach virus going around, no wonder it smelled bad. Hang in there!
