Hello everyone,
I am just wondering how long everyone's commute to school is? I got accepted (finally) into an RN program but its further away then i would like. I just want to see how far people commute to see if its even possible. Thanks!!!

I drive approximately 45 minutes each way. I have one clinical this semester that is about an hour travel each way. Not to bad though... I use the time to listen to my previous lecture for the class. I brought a digital recorder from Staples for like $60 - tape my lecture, use the software and the school's computer to burn the lecture to a CD - listen to it on my way... it has helped tremendously!

hmmm...to school it's around 30 minutes, give or take traffic...and to clinical, it's about an hour...i take the train for that and i try to do schoolwork then, but of course it's so early and i'm usually half asleep and trying to sling back some coffee in vain attempt to wake the heck up....

Oh my god how do you do it??? When do you wake up, go to sleep, study??? I think my commute will be about 1 hr and 30 min on a good day. Did i mention i live in mass so the winter will probably be a different story.
Moongrl,
I replied to your post in the wrong place but was wondering how you do such a commute. Like when do you get up, study, when do you go to bed and have time for H.W. Do you work (have a job)

My commute one way is 7 1/3 miles, tops..10 minutes (its 99% highway driving). And the majority of clinical sites are within 10 miles of my house..Yay! for me!
I cannot imagine a long commute! I never have driven more than 15 miles from my home for work or school. Guess I am lucky in the sense that my house is centerally located.

School is not even a 10 minute drive from my house but I can't say the same for clinical sites. We do the majority of the clinical sites nearby but they are now expanding the sites they are using so they say to be prepared to travel up to 90 minutes one way.

no job. Hubby, 3 kids. Leave 2 hours before class is to start, he gets kids ready for school. Most times I am up at 4:30 am.
Organization!!!!!!!!! and I stated in another post, I am a crammer, I study the 3 days before the test (about 5 hours each day) and do well. Grocery shop once per week, make a menu out first. Mid week I stop for bread and milk
Clean the house 2 days during the week, vacuum, mop, dust, bathroom. do a load of laundry each day so it does not pile up
Homework I do after the kids go to bed, or right when I get home from class and before they walk in the door. I also volunteer 4 hours per week at their elementary school as a teachers aide! I only watch 2 hours of TV per week, Greys Anatomy and Medium.
it can be done!!!!!!!! and yes, I am tired!
and when semester ends I am going to get soooo slammingly drunk and sleep for like 3 days! :)
