My name is Jennifer and I am in Charlotte, NC. Anyone else? I am starting nursing school at Presbyterian hospital in January. It's a 2 year RN diploma program. I already have a BS in Environmental sciences, but I am finally going back to school after getting married and having 2 children because becoming a nurse is something I have wanted to do (in some fashion or another) since I was a little girl. Anyway, I hope it's okay I post here before I technically start school. :)

Welcome Jen! I am still finishing my prereq's so I am not in nursing school yet either. Hope to be next fall ***IF**** I get accepted!
Good luck Jen!
Thanks everyone for your replies! Renerian, I haven't used my degree a bit -- unless you count the classes I *won't* have to take getting my RN (micro, english, sociology, etc). I loved my Environmental health classes, but hated everything it qualified me for. I am actually glad this all worked out the way it did though, because if I had gotten my BSN then I don't think I would have made half the nurse I will make now. I have straight A's so far (A&P I + lab, psych, abnormal psyc, marriages&Family). I realize that straight A's won't continue into the nursing program most likely, but that's okay. As long as I can look in the mirror and said "I did my best" I will be at peace with myself.
Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome! I look forward to getting to know all of you!
Wow your grades are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, welcome! This is a great "family" you've joined, and we'll be here for you as long as you need & want us. Please understand, though, that even though we get angry and need to vent our frustrations from time to time, we do love our profession, and all of us want things to be better for the coming generations of nurses than they've been for us sometimes. This is a safe place for all nurses, so once again, welcome, and enjoy!!
