Hey all, I am starting my first clinical rotation in a week and I am terrified!! Any advice?
Hey all! Thanks to all of you who gave me such good advice. It turned out great! I got to give my first shot, luckily it was an insulin to an older guy who has had diabetes for years and is used to shots! I also got to crush up some meds and administer them through a G-tube. I was so nervous going in there but I remembered to KEEP BREATHING and you better believe I was praying the whole night before (didn't sleep much). Thanks to all of you for your caring advice. The cool thing is that clinical made me even more sure I am going into the right field- it is so exciting!
Hey Rayrae,
I still am nervous with my clinical rotations. I get physically ill right before, but they do get easier. Just relax and ask LOTS of questions. Remember you are learning and don't be too hard on yourself. Generally, my clients have LOVED having students because we can spend time with them. Do you work in a hospital setting already? If not, try to get a job working at a hospital. That has helped me just being in the same setting and getting used to hospital routine. Have fun!!
