congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
My first advice is to always remember that others have made it through the program!
Secondly, make sure you get to know people......life long friends can be made!
Read, read, read! Do study guides as you read, if they are available. Take notes from lecture, take notes when reading also. Study the notes, and read some more!!!!!!
Read the material as many times over again as you can!
Congratulations...it goes by fast! :)
Thanks! Do you suggest any study guides? I'm so excited but also nervous.
Some of the books have study guides with them, if you purchase the book pack. Not every book does, and not everyone uses the study guides (even if they bought them).
Basically, the main point to remember is to read the material over and over again! I think the more you read, the more it sinks in. The study guide just helps to review the material you're reading.
You will find "you" way of studying.....i.e. what works for you. Some do study groups, others do not, some write stuff over and over, some highlight, etc.
It is a scary and exciting time. It will drive you nuts, but you will love the thought that with every test gone by means you are one step closer to the next semester, and to becoming an RN!
Of course, you have a handful of current, and ex-ECC students for moral support, and questions answered along the way. :)
It is true! Lots of support and help on these boards. Jaxia and I met on here just before she got her acceptance letter....and now she channels me on tests! Find a buddy that you can lean on. Talk to people at orientation, and hopefully find someone that will be in your first clinical and try to ride through the program together. It has been so much better having the same person to lean on all the way through the program. The support makes more difference than you could imagine.
I read everything, watch everything, write everything, etc. But, everyone has a different style of learning and you need to try to figure out what will work for you. Learning this material is very different from the learning you've done in other classes. Everyone is here when you have questions, get down, or get excited. Welcome to the boards :)

P.S. Fun - I had the 2nd interview today with Med City ER - they still have a few people to interview, and they aren't sure how many internships they have to offer yet (they hope to know in a couple days). So, long story short, I'll have to wait until next week to find out, rather than getting my call in the parking lot like Jaxia...lol. RN to MSN program will be sending out acceptance/declination letters Nov. 1. Lots of deep breathing until then for me....lol

Good luck. Nov. 1 is coming fast.

Some of the questions are actually the same.
