Critical Thinking???

Published

I have to find an article about critical thinking in nursing. It must contain the key words "critical thinking" and "nursing". I have looked EVERYWHERE I can, and can't find anything that's free or that has the entire article.

Does anyone know of an article that fits the bill? I'm developing carpal tunnel from all this searching....:(

I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for, but I came across this the other day. maybe it can help  http://www.csicop.org/si/9012/critical-thinking.html

http://www.indiana.edu/~wts/cwp/lib/thkgbib.html

Here's another one :)This one has a HUGE variety of articles! HTH :)

That second one only has abstracts...found that one too! Thanks for looking though!!

I found this one http://www.nursingnetwork.com/critthink1.htm it is an online article. You didn't mention if it could be online or if it has to be out of a journal.

Here is one more from Spectrum magazine http://nsweb.nursingspectrum.com/cfforms/GuestLecture/CriticalThinking.cfm

I got these from searching google.com. Hope they help.

I found that first one and didn't think it would work b/c of the length. But, that second one rocks!!!!

This is what I have to do with it:

Purpose/goal of article

Main points

How this article would apply to nursing practice

Strengths and weaknesses of the study as ID'd by the author

How did this article improve your understanding of critical thinking

I will print it out and show her....I HOPE IT'S OK!!!

Kristy

P.S. Thank you SO much!!!!!!!!

You are very welcome. Good luck!

Let us know how you do with the article Kristy !

I'll ask her on Monday afternoon if it's ok...if not....I'll be back....:D

Ack!! Does anyone out there go to a school with a library?

Have any idea why they pay the librarians? Why they spend lots and lots of money on nursing journals?

Sorry to be cranky but librarians can save you more time than you can even imagine. I wish I had known that before I became a librarian. Would have saved myself more grief and effort than words can say.

We're a friendly, helpful people, a lot like nurses.

My school library sucks!!! There are only 2 nursing journals avaliable. The last book I went to was from 1972. Needless to say it is very out of date. They expect all students to use the interlibrary loan system to get anything. Nothing is every found on campus. Last semester the nursing class carpooled to another University to use their library. Thank goodness they didn't ask us any questions.
