Hey yall!

Just wondering if there are any of us out there still working on pre-reqs - hopeful nursing graduates of 2006?

Roll call! :)

I'm the 26yo mama of two boys (5yrs and 18mos). I work FT right now and am taking my pre-reqs at night. Hoping to get into a BSN program and start my nursing core/clinicals in fall 2004!

manna, I'm liking Chattanooga better I guess. It helps that it's spring time and the sun is out, etc. I absolutely hate winter, the lack of daylight, the gray dreary skies, it totally bums me out! If I would, I would go to bed after Thanksgiving and not get up until March! anyway, I was getting so antsy about my application that I actually went by the allied health office at school to make sure that I had everything in and the secretary looked at my file in the computer and said that I had enough points to qualify for the interview even without my HOBET test scores so she said I didn't have anything to worry about. But I'm still gonna obsess about it anyway. Here's to a quick spring!

Hello, I am also doing me pre-req's. I have about 2 more semeters to finish them up. Do you guys know how long the actual nursing program is? I mean after we finish our pre-req and get into the program. My name is Jessica. I have 2 boys. One is 6 and the other will be 1 in a few weeks. Nice to meet all you ladies. Good luck to all of us!

Hello, Jessica.

Are you doing an LVN, ADN or a BSN?

I am doing the ADN program. Thanks for replying TexMedic, I really appreciate it. I have been working at my pre-reqs for awhile now. I had to stop because I had the baby, but am going back full time again in May. Thanks so much once again.

Does anhybody have to use MARIEB for science, As we have to over here, It's not a bad book!! I have another exam tomorrow 23rd on Nursing Foundations. My heads in a real spin!!!

We use the Marieb A&P text and lab manual here at the college I'm attending in Texas...small world I guess :) .

we used the Marieb text in Kentucky as well.

We used Marieb at my college in TX, too.

Jessica-

I'm hoping to get into the ADN program this fall. I take the NET in a few weeks. I hear it's not too bad. I've pulled out all of my old college alregba books to practice for the math portion. I've been working as a med. tech. at a clinic for the last two months. I LOVE it. The docs and nurses are fantastic...more like mentors than employers.

Are you in school now?

Tex, I took the HOBET test a few weeks ago and it's supposed to be almost exactly the same as the NET. there was some very basic algebra on it (like solve for x and that sort of thing) but it also had a lot of percentages and fractions and converting percents to fractions and decimals. This part made me sweat more than any other part of the test. I'm not bad at math, I just usually do something stupid like not having enough decimal places or adding when I should have subtracted. It's really not a hard test, I think I just freaked myself out too much on it.
