Big case of senioritis here. My final exam is in 97 days, then I graduate 11 days after that (lol, have to make sure we pass the exam before we actually graduate!).

Anyways, I am a bonafide senior in nursing school now, as you can see, and I am just sick of school. I can't wait for it to be over. I'm not really excited for clinicals anymore, like I was last semester. They just bug me more-It's not like the real world, the care plans are annoying (no one really writes these in the real world, not like this anyways),at this point, there just aren't that many new skills left to learn, you know the deal if you've been to clinical. I just want to be finished!

I want to have a real job. I want to get paid! (i haven't had a real job in quite a while) i want to be done with waiting for test grades to be posted, to try to remember everything about a certain set of diseases in 2 weeks we have between tests, the pressure, the whiney people in school, etc etc etc.

I just want to be done!!!!!!!

97 calendar days.....

25 lecture days, 23 clinical days

I hear ya. I hate my nursing school so bad at this point, that I don't even have the energy to fight or stick up for myself anymore. We are not even having a pinning ceremony. We have petitioned the school and did all we could and still no go. However it used to be a big deal and I was so upset that we were going to be the first class at my University ever to not be pinned, well guess what? At this point I don't even care anymore. Come May I'm out of there and thats all I care about.

Why aren't you having a pinning ceremony? How could it matter to the school if the students raise their own money for the bulletins, snacks or whatever? We sold candy the last semester and made enough money to have a nice ceremony and left some for the next class.

But I understand where you are coming from. The object is to get OUT of school and I know you are anxious to do that.

we all said that we were gonna have a book/note card/uniform bonfire after it was all over. Thank God we didnt! Now i have the memories and books in case i ever need to look something up.

well i won't get rid of my textbooks. it'll be funny in 40 years to see how much its all changed from now to then. my uniform? its a pair of white scrubs....im not feeling any love towards it at all.

Books cost way too much to burn but the uniforms are going up in smoke. I'm so sick of school that this week I've decided I'm not going to be sick of it again until April. I'm sick of being sick of school. That makes no sense. When is May 15?

may 15th is in 3 months and 19 days. (2 days after my may 13th graduation)

may 15th is in 108 days

LOL, oh you guys crack me up! I'm still in my first year and would say I'm sick of school as well but it's too soon to go around admitting that... but I can tell you that next Friday I will be exactly half way through my first year, and on March 14th I will be a 1/3 of the way through the entire program (and hence 33% of a nurse) and that my graduation day is June 9, 2006. Since I don't know exactly how many days away that one is, I think I can still be considered semi-sane.

May 7th and counting! I cannot stand school anymore. It is hard to focus and my brain is just too full anymore. I am just hanging on and doing the best I can........ :p

Rose, you and I have the same countdown since we graduate on the same day. Although your finals are closer than mine, we have ours the week we graduate. Talk about no time to chill out before pinning! And yes, I am so sick of school right now I can't stand it!!! I am hating it extra today, since I have clinicals tomorrow at 0600 and have to leave by 0415 to get there! We are almost there............

lol, i used to say stuff like that. at end of first semester, i'm like, "im 25% of a nurse!"

hmm, let me think... i have finished 3 semesters=75% of a nurse. today i finished my 3rd week of school, and we have 15 weeks this semester, so i am 20% done with this semester. since after third semester, i had only 25% of my nursing education left and now i am 20% done with that 25% that means....

I am 80% a nurse!

lol, i knew that algebra class would go to use sometime! i am such a dork

What a comforting thread. I thought it was only me! I am so sick of school right now. I dread going, and I look forward to Fridays because I know Saturday follows! I graduate May 24, last day May 13. We have 9 lecture days and 6 clinical days in February...(trust me, the count continues all the way through to May 13!)

lol, i hadn't had that figured out....but, looking at my calendar....

8 lecture days, 2 tests, 8 clinical days, 2 lab's in February :)

Because our University just invested in a multi-million dollar facility and the university is afraid that if the nursing department has a pinning ceremony that none of the nursing students will go to the "whole college graduation". They just want their facility to look good. It's all political crap. We were going to have our own and pay for it, but the university as well as the nursing dean said that we need approval from them. We petitioned and was denied. We are still getting pinned, but at our graduation banquet in our dress clothes. When we graduate with the entire school we will be wearing the same old boring cap and gown that the whole college wears. not the traditional white nursing dress and cap. I have purchased my own white nurses cap and white dress and plan on getting my photo's done on my own since our school is not doing this for us. We were going to take our class money and hold our own pinning ceremony off campus, but none of our instructors will come and no one has the strength to put anything together anymore. I have loved nursing school, and all the wonderful lifetime friends that I will have from this experience, but I hate my program. There is not 1 instructor that I respect as a nurse, person, or mentor. Can you tell I'm over it?

Jen that's terrible how your school is doing things. Anyway, May will be here before you know it and it will be over.
