Achoo. . .just remember that those slash marks are the same as the division bars on fractions, and what you have are complex fractions with a fraction in the denominator that you have to clear out before you can do anything more with the math problem. This goes back to very basic pre-algebra. You clear fractions out of the denominator of a fraction by multiplying both the numerator AND the denominator by the reciprocal fraction of the denominator. The reciprocal is nothing more than the fraction in the denominator that has been flipped top to bottom so when the fraction and the reciprocal are multiplied together the result is the number "1" that is now in the denominator. Whatever is left in the numerator is now what you can work with. Like math class, you just have to work these problems step-by-step. If you work with the labels on the problems you can also manipulate what is in the numerators and denominators as well to end up with the correct labels at the end of all the calculations.

    Congratulations on getting the 100%!

Congratulations! I'm currently procrastinating and not studying.. have my math test first thing in the morning.. need a 100% to pass.. so I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps! Congratulations again.

Thanks all! The hard part is that we all do them differently. I use dimensional analysis, where other do the desired/have/ stuff. It is hard to have a study partner when you all set it up different. Find a way that works for you and go for it!
I am in 3rd semester. Surprisingly, most of the LPN's transferring in did not pass and have to retake it. I suppose being out in the field with pumps, calcualtions aren't used as much.

I got a 100% on mine too. I write "mcg/kg/min" like this: mcg/(kg * min) and that makes the problems so much easier.

We are required to use dimentional analysis!!! It makes it difficult because sometimes it is easier another way.

congrats to everyone who passed their math tests!!! I learned dimentional analysis's the only way I can do it...and you are right achoo...when you try to study with someone who does it different it is hard and confusing...just keep doing it the way you are comfortable with...doesnt really matter how you do it as long as you get the correct answer....good luck to all you are in my thoughts and prayers....
