I encourage others to come in here and vent about school too!. Here, let me be the first--

Its my Last semster, and we have a TON on our plate. Well, our instructor gave us all the handouts for all the assignments we would have this semester.

I dont know if any of your are familiar with "ATI", but we have over 40 assignments due 60-100 questions each and on top of that we have to do 1200 NCLEX questions. Oh, the icing on the cake to all of this its worth less than 1%.

Now , i know that all of this is to prepare us for nclex and such, but its just too much!!. We have like 2 major projects and papers to write. & some of us work full time. Where are we supposed to pull the time to do all this. I suppose we arent supposed to sleep? Sigh.

Just know that you are not alone. All of us have gone through practically the same thing. It's like the nursing instructors want one last chance to put you through the wringer. The strong will survive. I hope you are able to hang in.

When it came down to a very similar situation with my school I simply didn't do it. It's 1% of the overall grade and I have children to raise.

oh believe me, ill make it through. hahah. im working on them right now. the best part of all this is they even said "oh were stressed out too im graduating with my MSN, and shes graduating with her DNP"..

i mean uh hello?!?! why make it more work for you then?!?!?! lol

1% !??! Wow. My vent is...I signed up for Mon-thur classes, but we have a ton of Friday and saturday classes and clinicals, don't describe the class as min-thur then. We even have class on good Friday, when the school is closed. Our schedule changed 5 times and its changing again before we start in two days. Unnecessary chaos.

omg. thats not cool. :( and ON GOOD FRIDAY... seriously. I bet they used the excuse that... hospitals are a 24/7 business LOL

My school (state funded, public institution) also has the nursing students attend class on national holidays where the school is CLOSED, like MLK day this week. It boggles my mind.

Actually, we too have a set schedule and then we have to come all these different days and times and I find that odd! I don't think any other university classes are run this way, people can't even believe some of this when I tell them.

consider it practice for when you are a real, like, nurse. you'll be lucky if you have ten holidays in a year and a few weeks vaca. compare that to your student schedule and reconsider this complaint!

Whats driving me crazy is that we still don't know which clinical site/days/time we will have this semester, and the first clinical day is the 31st! Lots of us work and have kids, so it really puts us in a bind to not know. We also have days sprung on us at the last minute when we normally don't have class. I don't mind going whatever day I need to, just please give me more than a day's notice! Even working in the hospital you have your schedule before the day of! It's a new program...I'm in the 2nd class. The first class graduates end of this semester, so the problem is really just growing pains/disorganization.

I took the NCLEX 3 times already and I'm feeling a little discourage!!!! I felt like I studied my brains out....what should I do????

i hate that my teacher literally reads the powerpoint and doesn't know how to answer our questions. i wish there was a way i could take this pharmacology class online instead of making me get up 3 hours before class to drive in stupid downtown miami traffic just to sit in a chair staring at a projector. i don't even take notes anymore. sigh.

i've worked in a hospital for 20 years, 40 hours plus mandatory 24 hours of on-call each week. e/o holiday, every 4th weeekend. not to mention six 12 hour shifts every week, and every holiday for 13+ months x2 deployments. i think i've got enough practice with a crappy schedule.
