Lisa, Life can seem so unfair at times. My younger sis died 2 years ago from CA, and I know how difficult it is for a family to go through these troubled times. I pray that your mom will be on her way to recovery soon. Take care.

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the support. My mom is responding well to the atb's and while still awhile from coming home...so much improvement. The partical bowel obstruction seems to be improving with the ng and ppn. I called her and she was pissy because she didn't have her purse or other personal items. My brother got up there today so her spirits are pretty good. She hasn't asked yet when I'm coming just keeps asking me if I work tomorrow for the last two days. So, my dad will make the trip tomorrow (we're all 1.5-2.0 hours away depending on traffic) and I get Friday with her sister. So much relief.

On another positive note on my new job. At least one of my co-workers of preceptor have told me everyday that I'm doing well so far. So strange to hear positive feedback after LTC. My unit is Skilled Nursing, subacute, which is a good place to get my feet wet. This also means that we are inspected by Jhaco and the State Department of Inspections and Appeals that inspect nursing homes and such. They told me how well I was doing and told my nurse manager.....strange for them to do. And my NM came and told me they said I was doing a good job. The administration has been pushing for the last few years that We are (insert hospital name) and positve attitude and such for customers/vistors/staff.....I'm loving this place so far.......strange to enjoy going to work again.
