Ours last year was a Walmart card for $50. Probably the same this year.

Specializes in NICU.
We got a $15 gift card to Kroger's that was taken out of our paycheck, Ho Ho Ho! :o

Now there's a heck of a deal.

Specializes in Nursing Ed, Ob/GYN, AD, LTC, Rehab.

As a CNA in assisted living ( a very fancy one at that) they residents would all donate whatever they wanted to a pool and it was handed out based on the amount of hours you worked. I usually got 250 not too bad!

It varies- usually betw $400-$600. My best friend who is a computer geek gets $10,000 !!!

Specializes in NICU, Infection Control.

I've usually gotten "logo" type stuff: lunch bags are the most frequent gift, a fleece blanket, fanny pack, tote bag and the like.

The bonus I like the most is that I get to keep my job!

This is one of the funniest posts that I have read in a while!!!!!!!!!!!!

We get zip, zero, zilch, nada, nothing! We used to get a coupon for $15 for a turkey that the local grocery donated to all the employees but I guess that was costing the hospital to much so they stopped that! Just keep repeating.....I love my job, I love my job, I love my job!:lol2:

Specializes in LDRP.

NurseAidBen-

you say:

I think we work at the same place! I got the $15 gift certificate, too. But, no, it doesn't come out of our checks!

Specializes in A myriad of specialties.

No such thing as a bonus---unless you call holiday pay a bonus! I want Augigi's bonus---10% of my(or hers) annual salary---that sounds great!!!!

Specializes in primary care, pediatrics, OB/GYN, NICU.
Ours last year was a Walmart card for $50. Probably the same this year.

We got a $25 dollar gift card to Costco. I don't know why they bother really....it is actually kind of offensive when you consider that our bonus was the same $25 for Costco back in 1996! Same store, same amount. Humbug.

Specializes in Emergency.

Full-time employees at my work get $250 and part-time (less than 1000 hours worked for the fiscal year) get $125. Of course taxes are taken out of that. One year they put it on a Visa gift card which was nice as there was no taxes taken out. We also get a $25 gift certificate to a grocery store. I work at a major hospital with alot of employees, I can't believe how many of you don't get anything. That's just plain sad.

Specializes in ICU-Stepdown.

Well, last year we got $150 grocery stoore card, this year we got $100 grocery store card and a letter telling us that the hospital had record profits this year (odd. We did better when the profits were lower?? Perhaps the record profit is due to the lower bonus.... ) But I'm not complaining -especially after reading what some of the other facilities are doing (I especially like the one about the $15 gift card -that came out of your own paycheck! OUCH! Thank goodness it wasn't a more expensive card! )

Never did any better at any other job -and I've worked in quite a few different places, in different fields- and I like the place I work at, so I'd say its OK. :)

Specializes in LTC.

No bonuses except for being able to continue working. Also, if you get lucky, you'll be working when family members of our LTC bring in food for the staff. That's it. Whoopee!!!

Specializes in Hospice, Med/Surg, ICU, ER.

None, that I know of.

However, I don't expect one, either. All I expect from my employer is to be treated fairly, a safe working environment, and the agreed-upon pay and benefits for hours worked.

Any bonus I get is just that - a bonus - whether it is a holiday turkey or a whopping check.
