i studied to my limit. 12-16hrs per day so it's not my brain... i took nclex books, looked through various "how to get As and study in rn school". i didnt even have a job or kids. it was probably how i managed my time, my motivation, or the fact i didnt know how to focus. i felt that when i applied knowledge to the questions, i was way off or the obvious was staring in front of me but i had too much going on in my brain i didnt know how to answer the simple question.

can people just apply and work as a CNA? would this help me better in RN school? i have winter break now. i have a few options

1. remedial course, reapply and see if i can get in SPRING 09 or FALL 09 RN semester.... there's no guarantee how long i'm going to wait and i cant fail 3rd or 4th semester. you can only fail ONCE in our program and then you're out.. my professor was worried that i might retake second semester, but when it came down to THIRD semester, i might not be able to pass and i'd start from scratch.. so she suggested LVN school for me.. since its easier than RN school...

2. apply to LVN school for FALL 09 (i can always do a bridge program)

3. get a job as a CNA??? build some nursing experience...get some assertive skills into me... take some clinical classes.

4. i have 60 units, i can apply to cal state northridge and try to get a general ed degree.. which sounds useless. i dont know another practical degree i can get that will land me a job that will promise financial stability.

5. work retail on the side?

what do you guys think i should do?

i'm 21 years old... my dream was really to major in english literature study in a university in europe, and just read books and look like a scholar.. never really have to lift a finger but tell a lot of people what to do. haha. maybe live a simple life in spain or italy where time doesnt exist and all i do is eat good food, love people, and walk through idyllic countrysides and get inspired by nature... take the bus/train to get to travel to museums and go to art galleries. that wouldnt be so bad.

what do you guys think? am i just dreaming? anyone done this before?

If your passions not in it, you don't succeed. It seems to me you knew your passion wasn't nursing all along. Perhaps you were looking solely at income? A income is never a good reason to do anything. I cant assume the reason you picked nursing, though.

Studies have been done and people who pursue the things they love tend to be more successful regardless of what their field is.

I would reassess your values and your wants prior to re-enrolling in nursing school. Take a literature class, see if you're missing the mark. Life is about learning who we are, and a part of that, is what we love.

On another note, any person who never lifts a finger should not be telling others what to do in my opinion. How can you understand others and delegate appropriately if you have never been in their shoes? The best supervisors are those who consider all employees fairly.

Don't let go of your dreams if that's what you have. If you want to go to Europe and study, you will find a way. You might not have the biggest paycheck, but when you're happy you tend to not notice the material items so much because you're too busy being happy.

Good luck in your future endeavors!
