Way too Big Brother potential for my taste.

    It's more than Big Brother-ish. It's Armageddon-ish.

Give them an inch of your liberties, they'll take 'em all.

I won't get easy pass due to the big brother aspect but if I were guaranteed that my info would stay confidential I'd consider it. I think it is a potentially good idea for dementia patients, possibly just put the name and contact numer on the chip rather than all the info. I can definetly see significant potential abuses. I won't be lining up anytime soon!
    Good thread!

Possibly a good idea...but I don't know much about it. It would depend on what kind of info was stored in them, and what kind of security was established/who has access to it, etc...

    George Orwell was psychic.

I am horrified and terrified not only by the technology now available to destroy our privacy and our sense of independence, but even more by the willingness of so many sheeple to go along with these changes. You can call it progress, I call it a sickening invasion of our rights. Too many people now are too young to remember what separated the First World nations from the Second World nations, and why we fought so hard to keep the distinction.
    Well said catlady!

    Waaaaaay too creepy!

    Not ever, ever!
Next thing they will be implanting the chips at birth. Might even make it a law. Then they will put sensors on the highways and know where you are at all times. Or track you via satalite. We need our freedom and also the need to ramain annonymous.
