[font="comic sans ms"]i was 42 when i decided to go back to school and get my college degree. after my dad became ill was when i decided i wanted to go into the field of nursing. i'll never forget what a hard time i was faced with because first of all, i was out of school for 12 years and second of all, my transcript was less than perfect.

i was a middle aged woman trying to get into one of the best nursing programs not to mention the most competitive one in nyc. the program counselor tried to talk me out of attending the school, however, i was determined to stay the course.

today, i'm glad i did because not only did i graduate with a gpa of a 3.8 with a bachelor of science in nursing, i also become an official rn at the ripe old age of 46! better late than never i guess. the irony of my story is that i work at the same hospital my dad passed away in. dedicated to my hero who believed in me. love you dad and miss you.

31 as an RN, employed as an ED nurse.

21 as a college graduate, employed as a corporate business woman.
22 as an unemployed, disenchanted ex-corporate business woman who wanted to live outside, and became a wilderness addict, whitewater afficionado, ski patroller, and EMT. Until age 31...

I'm now 33, starting my NP.

I got my RN license and BSN at 21, but at this rate I won't actually be a nurse until I'm 60.

Will be graduating in April at the young age of 50! Most of my classmates are the age of my children (23-25) although there are a few who are in their 30's. We are in an accelerated BSN program, so it's been a crazy time, but we are almost at the end! Best decision I ever made was to go to nursing school.
