Specializes in Psychiatry, Telemetry, Med/Surg.

I was a teacher first so nursing is my 2nd career. I was 38 when I graduated nursing school. And am loving every minute of it.

After many years of being told I wouldn't get through nursing school because I wasn't good at math or chemistry, or that I was too sensitive- I finally got the confidence to try, and proudly became a LPN at age 31. (the BEST day of my life thus far) I'm currently in RN school and will be 34 when I graduate. A big part of me wishes I started this process sooner, but what can you do...

LOL did I say I'll be 34? Not sure what I was thinking, but I'll be graduating a few months before my 36th birthday. :clown:

Specializes in Emergency.

Just started a month ago with my BSN at 22. Loving my ER job at the moment. Terrified beyond belief..but day by day I'm getting the hang of it.

Specializes in LTC, MDS.

I realized I wanted to be a nurse at 17 (I wanted to be a doctor before then, but that was waaaay too much schooling). I finally graduated at 24, thanks to the blinking prereqs and a 2 year waiting list! :o

I entered the nursing field when i was 19 as a Cna. Then i stopped working as a Cna after 4 yrs and went to the bank for 5 yrs. I graduated from Lpn school when I was 28 and now I'm beginning an Rn program at 35:eek::heartbeat

I graduated with a BSN at age 60, and got hired as an RN three months later on my 61st birthday.
