Seeking employment before passing NCLEX

I applied for a job and the job called me yesterday and I take NCLEX in 4 days, do I return the call once I passed, what should I do?

Did you tell the facility that you were an RN already? Or did you tell them that you were taking the NCLEX? Once you take the NCLEX it takes some time to get your results. So we could be talking a month or more before your license number shows on the website.

Otherwise, don't they know you are a graduate nurse and are in the process of testing?

Return the call as soon as possible. Make them aware that you will sit for the exam in 4 days. I'm sure they will still want to schedule an interview. I graduated Dec 2015; I was applying for jobs and interviewing as soon as August 2015 and had a few job offers prior to graduation. So definitely return the call soon.

Also it doesn't take long to receive results. I took NCLEX 2/5/2016, my license was posted by the state board 2/10/2016. It would have been sooner but there was the weekend and Mardi Gras Holiday.

Good luck !

yes I checked thar I was licensed. I wanted to just get my foot in the door. Hopefully an interview so when I pass I can have a job lined up. I thought that by the time they called It would be after NCLEX

You will have to call them back and tell them you are not licensed that you still have to take the test. They will either put your application at the bottom of a stack of applications because you don't have a license and the other applicants do or they will possibly throw it out since you lied on your application. It's not a mean lie you were trying to just get your application seen but they will still see it as a lie or a waste of their time if they want to fill the job with a licensed nurse now. What were you going to tell them if you didn't pass? I hope you pass but you have to tell them now what the real story is and see what they want to do.

If you don't call them back until after you get results you passed they may have already filled the job anyway with someone who did call back. And if you don't tell them you don't have a license the date on your license will prove you lied on the application that you had one.
