Hello! Anyone know of any good resources for pt ed re: pulmonary hypertension? If so, can ya'll point me to them? I've seen the AHA stuff, the PHA stuff, and the medline stuff. Just wondering whether anyone knows of any other good ones. Thanks!!!

Miko,

The best source of current info on PH is the PHA webiste. It has a scientific journal as well as info geared for the layperson. I know this because I am a nurse and also have PH. The board of directors for the Pulomnary Hypertension Association includes world renowned doctors. Here is the link to the Board of Trustees. It includes Physicians, Nurses and Laypeople/Patients http://www.phassociation.org/AboutPHA/Board-Members/.

Here is the link to the part for medical professionals. http://www.phassociation.org/Medical/

There is an easy read part for those who are newly diagnosed. It includes the basics, fact sheets, current diagnosis info, classifications, a glossary, and a guide to reference books. This is also where you can find the PH Survival Guide. This is our "bible". I recommend every PH patient have one. If they can not afford it, the PHA will usually give them one. It is also in some libraries and may be obtained by inter-library transfer programs if yours does not have it. Here is the link to that section. http://www.phassociation.org/learn/newlydiagnosed/

The "PHA Store" is a section that includes literature that is free. If you want to order go here...http://www.phassociation.org/store/freeform.asp

There are also message boards and daily on-line chats. Here's the link. http://www.phassociation.org/connect/

It is also a worldwide organization, so for those outside of the US or traveling, they can still find support and knowledge. I know this site is not "new" like you asked for but I felt the need to speak up. There is alot of outdated info out there. The leading physicians in the PH field recommend this site as their source of information for patients. I hope this helps :)
