Ok so I'm going for my physical next week to the hospital's facility...Since this is my first RN job I have a stupid question; is the physical exam offered by them is for free or not?? Like they told me I should bring my immunization record and TB test or the TB test can be done at their place?? Will they give me this test for free?? What about if my TB test will come out positive,I always have a positive one and I have to get an X-ray of my lungs, will they pay for the X-ray?

Generally if it's within thier own facility there is no charge for any of the services. Also if you have had a previous PPD that was positive let them know so as not to have one, further letting them know you would need a chest xray of which they generally will cover. Once positive PPD always positive PPD. At least this has been the practice in any of the hospitals I have worked at.

Thank you sincerely...at least I will try to get my immunizations record before I drive up there!!!

Well they did referred me to some clinic so I assume it is theirs!

You shouldnt be billed but if you want to ensure the correct information I'd give a quick call to thier HR dept/Employee Health. I've never had to pay for any pre-employment medical except when I left hospital nursing to pursue out-pt employment. Then I got hit with the bills as most out-pt facilities will not pay. Good luck and congrats on your new job!!! You're going to be just fine and no doubt be a great nurse (I've read some of your previous post). Keep us posted on how it goes :)
