post-interview anxiety!

I was blessed enough to interview for a PACU position at a magnet hospital near home last week. I thought it went well, and at the end i got the "we'll be contacting you very soon" line. it's been a week, I have sent the thank you cards the day after, and even called today and left a message inquiring about the status of things. basically, I am just on edge and haven't been able to rest easy since before the interview.

Today I check the hospital's job postings online and the position I applied for has been removed!!! :crying2: what are the chances that I still have a shot at this? Do you think I would've been contacted to let me know if I wasn't chosen?

I have really been feeling called to PACU/OR. AHHHH I guess i just wanted to vent and I know you all have been in this spot before. All I hope is that I get my call returned by tomorrow and get a clearer picture of where I stand in the process.

thanks for reading my vent!

Same here! had an interview last week in Telemetry unit. And i think I did well too. and the hiring manager told me that she will call me in a week or two for the result. but until now havent heard anything from her. haist.

Im waiting to hear until Monday, a week after the last interview.... I am just dying! It is seriously as bad as or worse than waiting to hear about the NCLEX... at 75 questions I was pretty hopeful that I hadn't bombed it, with the interview you don't know because you don't know how good the other candidates were :/

Agree!! Im waiting too until friday.

Let's just hope for the best!! and Pray! :)

My last hospital job took them five months to bring me in. Try to keep the faith, but I would still send some resumes out..just to be on the safe side. Good luck.

Monday is when they said they would get back to me. Let me know what happens with yours you guys! Best of Luck!

I have to wait 2-3 weeks :uhoh3: I'm slightly encouraged, since I made the initial cut to even get the interview (40 apps and they only picked 17 for interviews.) Here's hoping! Until then, I'm going to mail off a thank you note and keep applying for stuff.

I also sense a lot of gym time in my future because I need to blow off steam. Endorphins are my friend!

hmmm so here's an additional question:

since the interview (it's been one week), i have mailed out the thank you's, called the manager and left a message (have not rec'd a call back), and have tried my hardest to wait patiently (kind of failing miserably). do you think i should call back in a week if i hear nothing by then? or will i be put on a "beware of stalker" list?

Hey Guys!

I got it! They let me know today, Emergency Dept Residency, here I come!

Good luck to everyone, let us know!

others may disagree, but i wouldn't call back in a week. if they want you, by then, they will have called. i think it's extremely rude for an employer not to call or at LEAST email potential employs to let them know they didn't get a position, but not everyone feels that way apparently. i went on an interview where i thought i had it in the bag, they told me they'd call EITHER WAY, i sent a thank you note, and i never heard a word. very unprofessional IMO, but it happens. if they want you - they'll call - especially after you did the cordial thing and sent a thank you.

i feel the same. i guess i just don't want to admit that they might not want me, lol.
