Nurses, see the allnurses home page article about the nationwide panel to study how to recruit more nurses and keep them in the profession. A nationwide panel isn't really needed if we all respond with some suggestions and let the public know how we really feel. Now's your chance Oramar-your eloquence is needed. Now that I have read the article I have some fears. A PANEL TO STUDY THE NURSING SHORTAGE. Let me guess who will be on it, mostly doctors, administrators and maybe a few clergy. If there is a LPN or RN on it they will be they head of some nursing association, a nurse who has not touched a dirty diaper or been vomited on it 25 years. They will talk among themselves and decide what the problem is and venture solutions. All this will be done with little or no input from anyone in the trenches. I am going to write a letter to the editor and tell him what I have written here.

Let's keep this going. We need lots of letters to the editor. Pitts Post gazette is a respected newspaper-first to bread about unlicensed personel and the disastrous consequences. This is our chance for our voices to be heard. Thank You.

Wrote a letter to the editor and suggest we all do the same! It's insulting to think they need a Panel for this stuff!
