I THINK it was a personality based quiz. I've never had to take one for a job. Is this a common practice for applicants? I assume it's a way for recruiters to weed out certain people.

It's becoming more common. If you do an internet search for "hiring for personality" you can read several articles about the topic. I can see why it's done, but I also find it a little creepy.

Very common and very useless. Anyone with half a brain can answer those questions correctly.
Another human resources loop to jump through. .. however it is a no brainer.
