Waaaaahhh!! for the second time this week, I've had a couple hours of much-needed sleep, only to be woken up out of a sound sleep with cramps in my feet!! Could not get them gone for more than a half-hour. Was up all night. Went to work on 3 hours of sleep. :o

Thinking the problem was a lack of K, I had a nice big baked potato tonight with supper.

(As I've whined to you all before, I'm still taking that prednisone.)

Any ideas for a remedy??? I"m fresh out, and I can't pick my foot up or it'll contort. OW~ :bluecry1: how annoying!!

Sleepyeyes,

Where do you get your graphics form? They are a crack up!

I like your humor.

I hate foot cramps that wake you up in the middle of the night, the only way I can get rid of them is to stand up and walk them out. I get toe cramps when my feet are cold so I always wear socks to bed and it does seem to help.

I don't know if you are into alternative medicine at all, but perhaps a good massage therapist may be able to help you. Choose one who knows about orthobionomy and/or reflexology...or you might try acupuncture. Drink lots of fluids? Calcium and zinc? Quinine? Its a nasty way to wake up!!!

magnesium.....sorry

and Birkinstocks!

Something I know DOES work.. eat a PICKLE !(replace sodium)...and yes, magnesium has a LOT do with with those cramps and Ca+ as well...ever heard of Z-BEC ? Formulated for cramps...over the counter. Any soda at the grocery store that has quinine in it (as in quinine water) will help, too. This one may sound REALLY far out, but I know of people who SWEAR it works...grab hold of anything made of iron, or even steel and hold onto it awhile...??? (don't look at me like that !) Heck, when it's cramping THAT bad, anything's worth a shot!

For me what works is to take a couple of Tums. And, of course, to stand up and put weight on the foot involved.

Poor kid, hope it feels better by now.

Much better now, thanks all for the plethora of remedies. I'll try 'em all....

oh, and I did manage to get some sleep, much to my surprise... :)

Sleepy,

You can get Dansko clogs at some of the "walking shoe" type stores. Those that sell Birkenstocks usually carry these. You can try the website http://www.dansko.com to find a retailer or order online. The thing is you need to try on your first pair because the sizes are European and you never know. I swear by em. Good luck to you!

Hey Sleepeyes, you say it contorts? ARe you sure you don't have plantar fascitis? I sprained my ankle a few years back and had wicked plantar fascitis for a while afterwards. You could actually feel the tenseness on the bottom of my foot. And the pain!!!!! WOAAAAA! PT finally did ultrasound treatments and that is what fianlly cured it.

Feel better!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOOT CRAMP!!! ".....ever had one during sex????"

Yo, honey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With all your yelling, LOVERBOY will think he is doing

you SOME GOOD !!!! LOL
