  1. Hmmm. I think you are going to have to commit to more than 4 years to get your MSN. You can google RN to MSN programs and find those schools that offer this program and look into the program requirements.
  2. Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences never required that I have Algebra, but they did require me to take a chemistry class. They teach a very doable statistics class in their RN-BSN program. ISU offeres two options for statistics. I chose the Statistics using excell, and although I had to work REALLY hard, I loved learning the excell software and it is amazing how much ecxel does for you!
  3. My concentration was in education and we were able to do our clinicals in our own state. I happen to live in Florida. I can't recall the cost per credit hour, but I do know they waived the out of state fee for online students. I highly recommend this program. The professors actually practice what they preach/collegiallity and sharing of knowledge. http://web.indstate.edu/nursing/
  4. Actually there are several programs for LPN to BSN. Check on line, check with Indiana State Universtiy.
  5. I also had an AAS in nursing. I attended the Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and LOVED the program. I was required to take Chemistry (a blended course of inorganic and organic basics) but all my other courses were accepted across the board. I just finished my Masters online at Indiana State University and cannot say enough about this nursing program. They also have an RN-BSN program.
  6. In the early days of online education this was true. However it did not take long for employers to discover that online learners tend to be self-motivated, independent learners who are organized and utilize their time wisely. They are also pretty good team players as team work is often required to complete some of the more complex courses.
  7. I am in the nursing education tract, not FNP. My professors have all been PhD's, published, and have written textbooks. They have been accommodating, accessable and I am having fun while I learn. I took my BSN on line at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. I did not have to take A&P, but stats was not a walk in the park. However, the book was easy to use and again, the prof. was helpful, understanding and accessible. He did not hold your hand however. Shouldn't have to...it's graduate school.
  8. I have found them to be very user friendly and the Blackboard program is easy to use.
  9. http://www.fhchs.edu Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. RN to BSN on line. A really fine program. I could not have been happier and all the people I have refered to the program feel the same way. Very supportive, very much interested in your success.
  10. Weight based? I dont know about negative insulin orders
  11. I don't think there is a short answer to that one, but I can recommend a couple of excellent books... "The Nurs"e Educator's Guide to Assessing Learning Outcomes", Mary E. McDonald "Evaluation and Testing in Nursing Education", Marilyn H. Oermann and Kathleen B. Gaberson
  12. I sign mine jode RN, BSN
  13. BSN especially if money is not a problem. Seriously, this is the best approach.
  14. Exactly. If you or the patient have broken skin or a rash, you should wear gloves. Otherwise it is not required.
  15. I don't see anyone here uncomfortable discussing their religious beliefs. I think the original poster felt uncomfortable with HOW the instructor presented the material, "I'm a Baptist and proud of it!"... is inappropriate in THAT setting. How is that supposed to make a NON Baptist feel? And how does that help anyone help their patients with spiritual issues?
