Nursing school with Child Neglect Indication?

Apply? Yes. Be accepted and pass the background check? Your best bet would be to contact the nursing department and ask the head of the department.

There's a whole forum on here for nursing with a criminal record. Poke around there to see if anyone has posted about something like this.

Programs will do a background check, because if you have something that would preclude you from getting licensed or being able to work, there's no point in offering you a spot in a program. You may need to wait and see what happens with the appeal.

I girl I went to high school with was able to get her CNA (I know you said nursing school but this is my only example I've seen myself) with felony drug charges and child neglect on her record but no one will hire her. I don't know your charges. You may be able to get in but not be employed. That's something you might think about as well.

Well I wasnt charged with anything like in court with the legal system. So I have absolutely no criminal record. My son got into nail polish remover so they call it "neglect" from " not watching him". Its almost like the healthcare workers registry except its DCFS and they call it an "indication". So if my job were to be working with children say at a school they would look it up, but I was also told nursing homes????

Added: The indication will be removed after 5yrs if I dont appeal or win.

I may be wrong but if it's not on your record I see no issues because they won't know unless you tell them.

It shouldn't be hard to contest that. DCF has to look into every case reported no matter how small or ridiculous. I see no reason why that would go any father than just being looked into.
