Nursing organizations/associations to join?

Nurses General Nursing

Hi all!

I recently passed Nclex (on my first try...yay!!!) and am looking for some great nursing associations/organizations to join. I want to be connected and inspired. I am a Mexican American as well. I want to join to be connected as well as to build my resume. Any suggestions? Thank you!!!

Your specialty organization is the one I'd most recommend. Then there's always the state nursing association and a variety of general nursing associations.

Ditto to PP. But I'd hold off until you got a feel for a specialty area. Memberships can be a bit pricey, so be a little selective before you join something.

I googled and there is a National Assoc for Hispanic Nurses. That group sounds interesting to me.

Specializes in orthopedic/trauma, Informatics, diabetes.

I agree with specialty and state/ANA combo-usually you can get a deal as a new nurse. you can also write off dues on your taxes.

True what others day. I am also a newly licensed RN, but I joined American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) a few months ago because I've always enjoyed critical care, plus I like the info they send in your email. I'd definitely recommend that organization if that is what your interested in.
