NURSE Corps Scholarship 2015

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I finished my application today and could not find any posts here on allnursing. I figured we should have one. Is there anyone else that applied or is applying ? I have and EFC of 0 and am currently in a FNP program from an RN.

Specializes in Psychiatry, Community, Nurse Manager, hospice.

I applied today too. EFC of 0 and accelerated BSN

I also finished my application yesterday. My EFC was high and gpa low... but i had great recommendations, a lot of community service and excellent essays so I will be optimistic. My EFC was high because I was working a full time job, however I will be quitting once school begins in August. Hopefully there is a way that I can communicate this to them...

Specializes in Surgical Cardiovascular ICU.

Jbotwe2, I hope it does not affect those that applied since they give preference to those with an EFC of 0-5,500. I got a very high EFC but it doesn't truly reflect my situation at all. 😢

I am in the same situation...my EFC was higher than 5500 because I work full time but I will be quitting shortly--and then my EFC may as well be 0. I called several months ago and asked if I should even bother to apply, but she told me to go ahead bc you're not automatically disqualified for having EFC >5500. I have done work in underserved communities for years (my job is currently serving one of these areas as well) and good essays and recs so we'll see. 2 yr BSN program.

Do you guys know if a low GPA disqualifies you? My application was perfect with an EFC of 0. My GPA is 3.2 :( so I don't know if it will affect me a lot.

I am wondering the same thing. I am a third semester ADN student and my GPA is only 3.0 because my nursing GPA was reported instead of overall. Good luck to all of you!!!!

I applied and this is the second time applying, first cycle was right before I started school and didn't get it then (had a much higher EFC and perhaps less relevant experience). My program is a direct entry BSN to MSN (previous degree in biology)

GPA is 4.0

currently EFC is 0

program is MSN Pediatric Primary Care NP (just starting right from the BSN full time student)

have a varied background with a good amount of clinical time in the past 2 years of the BSN through school and work.

would be absolutely awesome if this scholarship comes through, been browsing tier III areas (dare to dream right?). very interested in rural health and working with autistic children.
