Trey went upstairs to play with the neighbor's and came home with super red, swollen eyes and he says they are itchy...I'm assuming it must be some sort of allergic reaction...what can I do for him besides a cool cloth on his eyes?

I hope Trey is better by now. I have dealt with allergies forever. It does help to get the offending allergen off your body and clothes. When I come in from working outdoors, with my eyes all itchy and puffy, I rinse my eyes with cool running water. I just hang put my face right under the tap, open my eyes and let the cool water flow. I feels so good, and helps with the swelling too. The allergist actually recommended it to help flush out the pollen. But I don't know that you could get a little kid to voluntarily do that with his eyes open.

Thank you all!!! Trey seems to be much better this morning, but I think I am going to put a call in to the dr. since he loves to play with the kids upstairs. He knows now that he can't pet the kitty anymore, unfortunately. He is fine with our bunnies...isn't that silly? He was also fine just being in their apartment until he was petting the kitty apparently. Very weird.

Actually it is not the strange at all, he is probably allergic to the cat saliva, and the cat probably had just given itself a bath (a good lick), and then of course your son touched the cat, and then rubbed his face, typical kid thing...
oh....good to know! Thanks Suzanne! I thought my kid was unusually weird! LOL!

Thanks guys...now he is back to his normal self complaining about the pain in his arm from his shots! LOL! The dr office said exactly what you all did BTW...Benadryl. I'll get some to keep in the house.
