actually , I saw some of it too , purely by accident, and against my better judgement, however it did do one thing for me, made me renew my birth control rx...
THANK YOU MATERNITY WARD for scaring me back into birth control...

Iron Chef also had a marathon....although it was titled "Iron Chef Upsets Marathon". Kinda lets you in on who wins....huh?
My hubby was also channel surfing and turned MW on. They hauled the baby off to do something (don't remember) but called it a girl. I'm sorry but that "girl" had a big old member in the scene right before commercial. I know that the labia is swollen...blah blah blah, but I've seen enough of them at work to know that this was NO GIRL.
Wonder who's kid it was....did anyone see that???

I saw that!!!!!!!!!! wasnt it the one that had four little kids and this was her fifth?
I remember saying , wait a second thats not a chick thats a dude
but honestly it all blurred together , I was dizzy from the looks of pain on everyones faces...
that delivery with the four small kids in the room was frickin ridiculous, sorry but if I'm in midbirth stance or postion or whatever theres no way my four lil kids are gonna be there...
husband - maybe , lil kids and inlaws FORGET IT!

I must admit, I saw some of MW, too. It's kinda like driving past a really bad MVA, it's so horrible, it's fasinating, and I just have to stare. Thank goodness, no one tried to put me on TV when I was in L&D. The entire monologe would be "Bleep! Bleep! Bleep!"

I fliped to the channel for a few minutes. I don't understand why television stations like to show the same show hour after hour. It was not something I was interested in - listening mothers going into labor and watching the agony they go through.
I ended up watching a movie instead. More relaxing.

Both shows are skewed drastically one way or the other, as BlueEyes said. It's annoying.
BTW Shay...I LOVE YOU!

Well-said, Heather. It illustrates a HUGE part of the problem of these so-called "reality shows" ...there is LOT OFF-CAM we don't see and are not privvy to, leaving a lot up to pure speculation and many assumptions......some of which are far from correct.

Well, therein lies the PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS SHOW....one damn crisis situation after another....feeding the adrenalin addiction of many TV addicts. But truly frightening for many, esp new parents....who can't be sure their birth story won't be similarly chaotic. It's either all peaches and cream (ala Baby Story, which makes me wanna yack), or chaos (Maternity Ward-style), on these shows and that makes me crazy!

Actually QUITE typical of what you see in the average labor/delivery experience ...really. And they wonder why we get so up in arms about visitors...sometimes, it's just too much.....not to mention the safety issues that arise. I am all for family-birthing, but 4 kids under 5? That is over-the-top.....hey....Mark says it best: GET THE BLEACHERS..IT'S THE ALL-AMERICAN SPECTATOR SPORT!
