I AM CURRENTLY TAKING CLASSES FOR CNA AND SO FAR I LOVE IT. I ALWAYS WANTED TO GET INTO THE MEDICAL FIELD AND I ONE DAY HOPE TO BE A NURSE. BUT...I DO HAVE BILLS AND WOULD HAVE TO WORK NEARLY FULL TIME. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD TO JUGGLE A 30-40 HOUR A WEEK JOB AND FULL TIME SCHOOL? AND IF SO, WAS IT WORTH IT AND WHAT WOULD URE SUGGESTIONS BE? :redpinkhe:nurse::jester:

I did 30 and many of my classmates worked also. It wasn't an option for me to quit work to "focus on school". What helped me was studying a couple of hours every night and starting on projects as soon as they were assigned. Good luck!

Hi!!!

I am a full-time nursing student & I work 30 hours a week, last year I worked 40 hours. I will not lie, it is hard work, but I just keep my goal close to my heart, and I know that this will pass!!! I pray a lot & cry a lot (LOL)!! But, you can do it!!!! Many people do it every day, and WE can too!!! Good luck to you!!

Perhaps try working as a home health aid or patient sitter. This way you can put in the time, but also have time to study on the job (shh... don't tell).

That is how alot of people got around it. I have friends who were LPNs transitioning to become RNs who took on home care cases and they benefited very well. Most of the time, the patient didn't need constant attention (although, this is not the same for each one), and were able to get a great deal of work done while their client was sleeping or after they were situated. Most of them that had no children took on weekend double shifts or night duty.

I just graduated from LVN school in March, and I worked 30-40 hour weeks. Its tough. But if you're determined enough, you can do it. Just make sure your schooling is a top priority. If it isn't, it'll be easy to get behind.

thanks So Much Everyone! I Really Appreciate It. The Home Health Aide Is A Great Idea Guys! Never Really Thought Of That Option...my Mind Is More At Ease Now.... :-0
