Is it an easy process to transfer a state license to a new state? What about travel nursing...do they require you to constantly transfer your license around.???

In CA you have to get a new license. All you have to do is prove licensure in another state.

you have to apply to the board usually as an edorsement candidate.....very time consuming and costly also....each board has different criteria....you must be able to prove your CEU's if they request it...usually involves fingerprints and notarized paperwork. Many ask the same domdrum questions, we nurses have all been asked a million times from the other boards...but it is best to comply entirely with everything and certify all your mail to the board...very important!:roll

now that the boards are all going onlne, the price stays the same, but they can automatically check your status within your home state, however, they still require all the paperwork that goes with it.

some states are easier and faster than others...allmost all offer a temporary license which is good for a limited number of months while they process your paperwork:mad:

a final word.....when you get a license in another state, DON'T let it lapse...even if you move out of the state, and figure you will never live there again, don't let it lapse...its very difficult to reestablish the license, and puts you through their audit in order to very compliance with their requirements.

good luck!
