Hey everyone!

I plan to move to Lexington in January. I have some questions that I would be very grateful if someone could answer.

What is the job situation there?

At which hospital do you recommend working? Is it difficult to get hired there?

At which hospital do you not recommend working?

In which community in Lexington do you recommend living on an RN's salary? I don't mind driving several miles if that's what it takes to live safely and inexpensively.

Thank you for any help offered.

I know of UK hospital in Lexington. Maybe if you asked this in the Kentucky forum you would get more answers.

Specializes in Cardiac Nursing.

There is UK Hospital, St. Josephs, UK Good Samaritan, Central Baptist (I think). I know the website for UK is www.ukhealthcare.uky.edu

HTH

Specializes in Med/Surg.

You have Central Baptist, St. Joseph (Main and East), UK, UK Samaritan, the VA and then smaller hospitals in surrounding communities that are currently being bought up by St. Joseph and UK. As far as safe areas to live I think the area around Nicholasville Rd, Tates Creek Rd and Richmond Rd will be your best bet. DON'T go anywhere around Russell Cave Rd or Bryan Station Rd they are pretty scary (I've lived here my whole life and wouldn't go through there in the day time). But that is just my opinion. :twocents:
