Just accepted!!!!!!

Hi! I am new to this board and am excited to have found just a terrific forum. I have just found out I am the 3rd alternate to this years nursing program. My counselors have told me I am IN! I feel pretty good being ranked to high out of 654 applicants.

Anyway, does anyone have any advice for a newly admitted nursing student. I should be starting either this Oct or Jan. Is there any advice you can give to prepare me for such a life changing endeavor? Thank you in advance!:)

Hello, Welcome and congrats!! you didn't say if you were married or have kids, but if you do it's going to make school a little tougher but you can do it! Be organized, ask questions if you don't understand, get yourself into a study group if possible and have fun learning!

Thank you for the excellent advice. I am married, but I do not have children as of yet. I am waiting until I am done, should be 31 then.

I think waiting on children is a wonderful idea. School takes so much out of you. If you can wait, that's great. Congrats on your future endeavors and great news! If I can be of assistance, don't hesitate to PM me!

No real advice here. I am starting in August so I am clueless! Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS and good luck to you!!

Congrats to both of you!! A study group worked well for me when I was in school. Keep healthy, get enuff sleep, eat right. If you aren't doing some kind of exercise program that you enjoy right now, find something that you like between now and when your classes start, it's a great stress reliever. And have fun! Soon you'll have your own stories to share with us!
