IS the competition tough?

Hi all. I am in my first year, first clinical rotation. I found out that nearly everyone from our class wants to do L&D after they graduate. I eventually want to go into it too once I get med-surg experience. Will I have a hard time since it seems like such a popular choice?? It's what I have my heart set on! Is the competition for it tough?? Thanks for any responses!

Is the competition tough? NO. All specialties are sought after very much right now and L&D is no exception. Go for it.

I WOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT THAT. WHEN YOU FINISH YOU WILL HAVE PLENTY OF SPECIALTIES TO GO FOR. GO FOR IT. L&D IS A NICE AREA TO WORK IN. I WORK IN NICU AND LOVE IT.
