I'm working TWO full time jobs, crazy??

A while back I picked up a part time nursing job at Kaiser hospital because I found myself bored with my days off, so I thought to myself what the heck, i'll get another job. A while back my manager at the part time job said that she really needed the extra help and asked if I could switch to full time there, too. She said she would work around my other full time job schedule. I eventually gave in. So now here I am, working 6 nights a week (oy vey), and I'm averaging about 80 hours per week between both jobs. It's actually not that exhausting as long as I go to sleep as soon as I get home and get ready to go back to work. The only problem is the only thing I do is work, sleep, and eat. That's about all I have time to do now. I don't know how much longer I'll last only having time to do those 3 things. But I will say this.... the positive part about all of this is that my income has more than doubled and I'm bringing home more money per month than any person should be allowed. I sure as heck work for it, though! More bad news is that Uncle Sam is taking out more than twice the amount of taxes with my new income, too :(

I'm working two jobs and I just signed up for the Mollen flu clinic,I figured I dont have any kids yet (just two dogs ) to take care of so why the heck not??

I'm working TWO full time jobs, crazy??

Yes! I wouldn't do it.

Well everything sounds good...as long as you do not have any children...I would love to be in your position, but I have children that need my time too. Keep on doin' it and if your not single, you will be...JK :yeah:

No really, if you are in the position to do it, keep it up and build up your bank for rainy days...you still have one day to yourself to do what you want, right?

:yeah:All I can say is, more power to ya! I'd consider it (after graduation that is) if I still don't have any kids at that time and if I could get two jobs that were 3-12's. I might do what you did originally and just pick up the part time job. Just make sure you keep taking care of yourself. Don't get too stressed out or too ran down.

You are my hero.

I work 4 10 hr shifts days and 3 12 hr nocs shifts every week! I love the cash and I still have time for my horses and critters. I take weeks off of the noc job when I have something I want to do

I thought (at least in my state) you are legally not allowed to work more than 60 hours/week.... Maybe I'm wrong or I misunterstood????

THANK GOD no one has done that in this state! I have worked 2 jobs or the equivilent hours since I was 18. I dont think it is up to anyone but my self to limit me in the number of hours that I can work.

The money is great. If you have some large debts then I would do this short-term-6 months or less, to pay down the debt THEN I would make a choice for ONE FT job so you can enjoy life!

When my husband first left my house I ended up working 48 hours one week and 56 the next. These were scheduled hours but as we all know, we don't all clock out immediately at shift change, I probably averaged 5 - 10 hours per week more than that. At the time I was paying his share of a lot of bills and it was out of necessity.

I did it for about four months and then quit the part time job where I was doing 16 or 24 hours per week. I did it for my sanity. I think if it's part of a short term solution for necessity it's fine, but I ended up becoming a complete witch. You also have to seriously consider if you are practicing safely with that many hours clocked up.

I think two full time jobs is a little too much. Yes, the money is nice, but there are many more important things than money, things like your physical health and your sanity! If you keep working that many hours, you are going to burn out in no time. And I personally wouldn't want a nurse taking care of me who works 80 hours in a week, I think that is a safey issue. There is much more to life than working, eating and sleeping.
