1. What is your definition of nursing? I always look to Florence Nightingale for my definition of nursing.

2. What do you think is the role of nursing? As an advocate for one's patients - a mediator/navigator through the health care system.

3. Is your agency using one of the nursing theories. We use a relationship based care model...

As a nursing studend I believe the lesson is to begin to fine tune your interview skills as we use them everyday when dealing with patients. Initial interviews are you first and most important sources of information about a patient and what they need or symptoms are present. You need to have good communication skills with face to face huma beings on a regular basis and you will have to glean information from sometimes uncooperative families and patients. Sometimes people are just afraid to talk and are concerned about sharing information with a stranger.

I think their goal is for you to find a real nurse and ask her questions face to face. It's about the action of the interview not the information you are obtaining.....:twocents::twocents:
