I need help deciding

There are two open positions that are both appealing to me.

1) FULL TIME 7P-7A on a Neuro/Med-surg floor

2) PART TIME 3P-11P on a hectic Telemetry/Step Down/Med-Surg floor

I can't decide!

I want the full time position because it's full time benefits! And if ever I decide to go back to school I can get full reimbursement! And it's night shift! Much more relaxed and easy to learn.

I like the part time position because it's on a telemetry floor. Cardiac is my thing. I am a new grad and I would love to have tele experience. But the neuro floor also get patients with telemetry monitoring. Downside to this is that the shift is busy (admits, discharges, etc.) and only part time benefits and they only pay 50% if I go back to school. I just feel like if I decide to move to another hospital after 1-2 years this would be good for my resume cause I'll have tele experience and have my ACLS. But then again I can get my ACLS even if I work on a neuro floor.

I am leaning more towards the full time position. Am I making the right decision?

Not to sound mean, but why are you relying on the opinions of a bunch of strangers to make a major life decision?

It's ok you don't sound mean. I just want to see what you guys would pick.

Why not take the full time position to start out- especially if the benefits of full time work and night shift appeal to you. Nobody says you can't ever change units in your career ;) Good luck!

Thank you!

Forgive me if I read your post wrong, are you asking which positions to apply to? Or do you have 2 different job offers?

If you are a new grad with no expereince, in this market apply to any job that is open untill you get hired

If you have 2 job offers, I would go with the full time benefits, you could always change later on in your career, maninly because the eve swing shift is always so busy
