I have been doing dialysis as a tech for 13 years and recently graduated (8/2010) with my RN and wanted to get acute care experience in the hospital, I have my ACLS and have been applying for ICU, ER, and Med-Surg internships in and around houston in and out of the medical center with no luck, does any one have any suggestions?

Are you being open to anything and everything, every shift, any unit. If your resume good and professional? Have you had it looked over to make sure it's the best it can be? Are you sending out thank you cards for any leads, hand delivering your resume to different unit managers to put a face with the name and get noticed?

The OP in this thread has some fabulous, creative ideas. Give it a shot!
