How are Dansko's suppose to Fit

I know, another shoe thread. BUT - are Dansko's suppose to be loose on your feet? It is hard because I cannot wear clogs for school - but when I try on the Dansko shoe w/ heel - my feet are loose in the shoe - BUT, they don't slip off my feet and the arch feels good.

They are not molded to my feet or soft like others. Is this normal?

Yes. I just bought my first pair and the saleswoman said they don't fit like regular shoes. They are clogs, so they're wide in the toebox. The heel isn't meant to touch the heel of your foot. You should have at least a finger's width of space between them.

They ARE comfortable.

I agree with cyberkat.......I was told the same thing when I purchased my first pair and I LOVE them!!!!!!!!!

Just a word of caution, the salesperson told me my Danskos whould last 5 years...try 1 year. I don't think I am especially hard on shoes either. They are comfortable but I don't think they are worth the price.

I love my Danskos, and yes, they should be loose. I prefer a loose shoe so they feel great to me. The bottoms aren't really squishy.

They are much more sturdy than a tennis shoe and so I think would last much longer. But of course I'm very easy on shoes and my shoes always last forever.

Most people I know have gotten years out of them. Maybe you got a defective pair, bellehill?

Sounds like your Danskos are fitting the way they're supposed to!

I have several pairs, and I get about two years out of each of the two pairs I rotate for work. The sandles get many more years because here in Seattle, we don't get that much summer! I also have a couple of pairs that I rotate for casual wear, and I can get 3 or 4 years out of them. As you can tell, I love my Danskos -- rarely wear anything else!

I just bought my 2cnd pair of Danskos. The first pair was for comfort and fun while living in Alaska. The Nice thing I've found is they are great with thick socks, white "sweat" socks, thin pant socks, or no socks. The thicker the sock the more snug they fell yet not too tight or uncomfortable at all. I LOVE that they make my 5'2" frame a little taller-heehee!!!! And they go with jeans, black slacks, and are a tough shoe. So.....I just bought a pair of white ones for my new nursing job. I already know they are good to my feet for a long day. Now, I paid about $98 bucks (no tax there) in Alaska but here in Florida I got mine from a uniform store that had them for $78-the cheapest I've ever seen em. Either way, it's been worth it for me.

Good luck!

I am in southeastern Pa-I'll hook you up....

Last time I tried on the Dansko's they seemed too wide for my narrow feet (kind of sloppy, like I might slip around in them too much), so I got more Merrell's. Do any of you Dansko lovers have narrow feet, especially narrow heels? Are the soles as hard as the wooden type usually found in swedish clogs?
