ever notice that

  1. If a patient's toilet is going to overflow and make a mess that runs down the hall, it will only happen in the middle of the night shift when there's nobody to help you clean up?

[font="comic sans ms"]if a confused, npo patient is going to climb out of bed and drink that yellow stuff in the bottle at his roommate's bedside (yes, that bottle), it will happen just as his doctor makes rounds in the morning.

and if you happen to get the giggles as you're trying to chart said event, it will turn out that the doctor in question has absolutely no sense of humor!

...when you have all your 10am meds pulled and in order, the surgeon on call comes in and changes every order in the MAR:spin:

    Yes.

Oh, and the hoops we had to go through to be able to have an accessible plunger. Maintenance had it locked up at night as if it were a golden sabre.

Unfortunately, nights at our place mean you do everything. Once we had a burst pipe on one of the coldest nights of the year. Guess who mopped up the mess? Nursing. Guess who came in an hour later and muttered "Oh well, you cleaned it up OK. We thought summthin' might freeze up tonight" Maintenance.

you just, i mean JUST get the bed changed and the elderly confused pt looks at you and says " Oh Dear....."

You have the biggest strongest looking man and he goes tachy on you while you are doing an IV start and you have to put the head of the bed down to keep him from passing out.......
