I read an article on line a few months ago about the up and comming career for nurses being coding. My job sent me for a basic coding class and I have to admit I enjoyed it and it was very challenging.

I know I can get certified in coding but where is the demand?? I do want to get paid for my education. Coders make about 13 an hour.

Does anyone know anything about this??

Please let me know.

Just be careful. I took the RN Coder course 4 years ago. During the course, there was much hype about online coding jobs for RN's, so I went on to get my certification through AACCA. I spent a lot of time and money on it only to find out the instructor/owner was still trying to get her online coding business going. No coding job for me. If you check out the certification site, AACCA.net, you'll see that much of it is outdated. Very disappointing.

hello I worked as a medical biller and coder for more than one year and as what you have said it is very challenging and easy to do when you are familiar with it. Actually, it is outsource here in the philippines and many company here look for a nurse for this job and it pays high. i don't know in your country if it is the same. Our boss which is my auncle also told us that billing and coding pays also high in other country. You will not regret in this job because it is also related of what we studied:D
