Back Pain How to live with it

Hello Guys,

I am a student and I am on my practice time now.

I guess I made a wrong movement and now I have Back pain every day.

Is not very painful but is annoying me a lot.

Do you have any suggestions?

Have you never deal with back pain at work?

There are training sections or devices that are popular to reduce it or avoid to make other bad movements?

Thanks in advance ;)

According to TOS we are not to give medical advice. However, cecio, you specifically asked how I have dealt with back pain and I can tell you what I did.

I have an antique '51 Chevy pickup that was totaled back in 2011, got a good settlement from the insurance company, reimbursing me much more that I paid for it, and was allowed to keep the truck. I spent the next 3 1/2 years taking it apart, repairing and replacing parts, and then put it back together.

My back took an awful beating. Here's a sketch from my garage journal for an example, of what I put it through:

My back hurt so much to the point that I couldn't lay in bed for more than 7 hours and rise without excruciating pain, so here's what I did:

I bought the very best mattress I could afford. Belinda, my medical nurse wife, would give me deep lower back massages. I used a heating pad upon wakening while sitting at my desk in the art room. I iced my back and wore an elastic support to bed. I worked out with weights and an elliptical, and/or bicycled almost every day, never missing more than two days in a row. I took ibuprofen now and then to help me through. And, I regularly received adjustments from a chiropractor.

I worked on my back for 1 1/2 years before the pain finally fully went away.

I now work out before going into work with weights, for about 10 minutes. I relatively strictly adhere to an exercise routine. If I don't work out regularly, and miss more than a couple of days, general aches and pains return and I feel "all stoved up".

When I belonged to a gym, before I purchased my universal weight set and elliptical, I remember what an 82 year old member said to me: "I am afraid what would happen if I didn't work out every day!"

Good luck, and the very best to you, cecio!

I have known several nurses with chronic back pain over the years and they would use chiropractors, physical therapy, massage therapy, core strengthing exercises, ice alternating with heat, occasional NSAIDs and if that didn't work they would get a couple epidurals. Most improved without needing epidurals. There are also ways to stretch your back you can check out Youtube even some physical therapists show exercises and stretches on youtube for various aches and pains. I once had a back injury from moving a 400 pound patient that sidelined me for a couple weeks, but luckily did respond to physical therapy, ultrasound and massage and I was soon back to work. They even had me use one of those big exercise balls that people sit on to lean against and stretch my back. Most likely you will be back to your good old self before too long if you check in with your Dr.

While we are at a high risk for injury particularly the neck, back and shoulders you would be surprised how many times people were injured off work time everything from tripping and falling down stairs to wrenching their back maneuvering a car seat. Also bending will cause low back pain so avoid it if you can by raising the bed.

Moral of the story take care of yourself and get good disability insurance when you get your first job.

Sleep Number bed. Holy **** it has changed my life. Not cheap by any means but it works

I suffered from terrible back pain. Lost some weight and started exercising regularly... back pain disappeared.

Make sure you have GOOD shoes, and a good mattress.
