At home, stressing my Critical Care take home test

Not really a topic about CC class or cardiac strips here. Just a basic vent.

I took my critical care classes at the hospital this week since our unit accepts tele pt's and vented pt's. I have a take home test to complete and I hate it. The class structure at the hospital just didnt appeal to me. If I hear one more educator answer "Think through the problem" when I ask a question, the ER at my hospital is going to have a mutilated body on their hands to try to piece back together. I'm not really a fan of our educators right now. Sloppy class, poorly presented. I would have been better off with stay at home modules.

The test is not hard, just..........more annoying. Reeks of educators trying to sound smart and pump themselves up. Reminds me of school in a lot of ways.

Still, in these bad economic times, I am grateful the hospital see's me fit to take the classes and improve my usefulness to the facility.

I think sometimes it's worse in the facility setting....I don't know why, but some of the unit educators talk to you as if you're 3 or 4 yrs old.....

It makes them feel superior.

I definately would have preferred modules on the computer. Their presentation was just a mess.

And on top of it I find that I'm often supplied information that is not correct.

Yep, the book they use for this class is a joke. Wrong strips under the wrong titles, no page numbers, important info. left out but plenty of gibber gabber. And then they spent a half hour complaining about someone wearing open toe shoes. OMG, get your priorities str8. Get the class you are being paid to run in order first.............cry about open toe shoes second. Thank goodness these people are not performing pt. care.

OK. I am done with the test and, to be honest, I am completely confident in my answers. I had to put more thought into it, but now, I feel good about the work I am turning in. Now, I will enjoy some movie watching.

Usually when an instructor/professor/educator says "think through the problem" is because they don't know what they're talking about. It's much easier to say that when you have one-click access to the answers.
