anyone taken a break from nursing?

I was wondering if anyone took a break from nursing and went into another area or field, if so how was it? Did you stay or go back to nursing?

I did. I worked at a dentist office and intended on going to dental hygiene school. I stayed per diem at my nursing job still. I only stayed at the dentist office for about a year; it wasn't a bad job, but I knew my heart was in nursing. I missed my residents too much!

Yep I was out for 4 1/2 yrs home with kids and special needs child. I only went back out of because I had to. I'm glad to be back though and love my job.
