Am I diabetic??

I've been experiencing a sudden numbness and tingling in one of my feet. It comes and goes, but when it comes it totally freaks me out because 1) it comes completely out of nowhere, and 2)I don't know what the heck it is. I've read somewhere that its probably related to neuropathy, which for me would probably translate to diabetes (because of my long family history).

However, I don't have any other signs of the big "D", other than this numbness. Does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about? Have you experienced it? Or have some sort of insight as to whats going on??

There are several possibile diagnosist that I can think of causing sudden foot numbness and tingling....from sitting in one position too long, poor footwear to diabetic neuropathy or peripheral vascular disease.

A call and appointment with your health care provider is indicated as these symptoms need to be evaluated ALONG with a physical exam for appropriate diagnosis to be made.
