Anybody else going to be applying? I'm a long shot because I'm applying without all my courses completed, they will be done in the Spring.
Also, you'll have to take CWV 101/301 sometime before you graduate as well as a humanities class to make up for community to university transfer. So talk to someone about that because I don't know how that works w the fast track program since you probably don't want to add an additional class to your nursing schedule.
That you so much for the info ryleea1! I am extremely surprised by the lack of communication as well. Hopefully at the nursing info session on Thursday I can establish a connection with someone in the actual nursing department to help make the process more smooth. I am hoping that I will have most of the other classes done from my Bachelor's degree. I know for sure that I am missing the CWV class because ASU didn't require anything like that. What made you choose St. Joes versus the other locations?
If you can find a way to personal message me maybe I can pass on my counselors name, she's great. Just push for communication and answers. I haven't gotten any replies from anyone over break so far, so maybe that's why. St. Joes is the closest to me so as far as having a clinical site 30 miles away, I wouldn't have to worry about that bc most rotations are done there. It's fast track. Great hospital reputation. I have heard in the past that they offer tuition reimbursement throughout the program for x amount of years of commitment so if I need to utilize that, it's there. Also, they have barrow's and I'm very interested in neuro so it would be a great opportunity for me. What about you?
Went to the information session last night & so glad I did! I got all my questions answered & made sure to get a business card for all the advisors! I also found out that the summer fast-track is less competitive than other semesters, which is awesome. St. Joes is pretty far for me (I live in Chandler) but I think that my chances of getting in will be a little higher since I am a Dignity Health employee, plus the hospital has a great reputation.
Hii! I just finished my application for the ATStill Fast Track program that starts in the summer. I am pretty nervous!! I scored a 71 on my Reading and an 86 on my Math on the TEAS. Although I have only been speaking English for about 7 years, I am very lucky to pass it the first time! My science GPA is at a 3.85 and my overall is at a roughly 3.67 but by the end of the spring Semester I will be at a 3.7+ since I will only be taking SOC101 and a couple of electives and am pretty darn sure I will get an A in those classes! I also called the advisor and he said that we find out February 15, 2014 if we get in or not! Good luck!!!
Hi everyone. This may be to personal to reply to on here, if so I understand. I'm trying to figure out how to pay for the summers during 2 summers. My understanding is my aid and goverment loans will be maxed so I will to pay them out of my pocket. Does anybody know if that's what everyone does?
amberdawn85,
I am trying to save up enough money to pay for the summer semester out of pocket, and then pay for fall and spring semesters with loans. It is kind of hard to know exactly what I will need to budget for and do until I have been awarded financial aid. My plan is to also apply for every scholarship I qualify for.
If all else fails and I need to come up with the extra money, I will most likely have to take out private loans :/
I will be working during school, but I don't make nearly enough to significantly contribute to the tuition costs. I know that the tuition seems like a lot, but one of the nurses I work with pointed out that once you get hired after graduation, you will get paid more than the total cost of tuition per year. I don't really have any other major expenses (house, car, children, etc.) so I figure if I have to take out more loans it won't be too awful.
What location are you applying to?

That's crazy they're not responding, usually the employees won't stop communicating for admissions and info! I'd share a name of my counselor who is awesome but it bleeps it out. Those pre reqs you have missing shouldn't be a problem. I have micro micro lab sociology nutrition and final yr of english this semester. I tried googling it for you but there's a pdf file for maricopa transfer students to gcu nursing program with all the classes, but pretty sure I named them all. OH SOCIOLOGY 101!!! I'm applying at st. joes as well.
