Anybody else going to be applying? I'm a long shot because I'm applying without all my courses completed, they will be done in the Spring.
Hey everyone I am kind of lost. I am interested in applying to GCU for the summer 14 term, but on their website I can't find an application or any sort of prereq requirements. I want to meet with someone from the school to discuss the program, but it seems like the contact is different for every location. Does anyone know if there is a main nursing department number that I could call to schedule a meeting with an advisor? Thanks!
i think you have to get in contact with gcu and get in the school and then you get in contact with a nursing advisor. hurry thought theyre sending out fingerprint verifications and background checks soon! the last day to apply is jan 15 i believe. the contacts are not different for the different locations. you talk to one person and let them know which location you choose.
amberdawn85 that would be amazing that you! I really appreciate it :) I called GCU yesterday and left a message for an advisor. I have not heard back yet but hopefully I will soon, especially if the application deadline is January 15th! Do you guys know what the prereq requirements are off hand?
Never heard back from the advisor who I left a VM for so I ended up driving down to the campus and speaking with a general undergrad admissions advisor. While I was there he had me apply to the school, and said he would follow up with me later and email me information about a nursing information session that was being offered both on campus and as a webinar. Have you guys attended this information session yet? I wish they would just make the application and all the program admissions information readily available online.
I signed up for the info session this Thursday evening! That seems to be the only way to get any info since I still have not heard back from anyone at the school. The quickly approaching application deadline is worrying me though! I still need to take the TEAS also if they are still accepting that instead of the HESI or Kaplan. Out of the prereq courses ryleea1 posted, I still need patho (which I am taking this spring at CGCC) and lifespan development! Hopefully that wont count against me too much :/ I think I am going to apply for the St. Joes location. I currently work at Chandler Regional Medical Center in the ED as a scribe and Dignity Health seems to treat their employees well from what I have heard from the ED nurses!

I'll butt in too and tell you guys that I BARELY had the 3.0 science GPA & got accepted for Spring '14 start so definitely don't be discouraged from trying. Also the admissions advisors are very helpful and honest. If they think you don't have a chance they'll tell you what to do to increase your chances of acceptance. Follow their advice :) best of luck to you all
