Hello GCU summer applicants!
I figured someone else would have started a thread by now, but since they haven't I figured I would since the deadline is approaching in less than 2 weeks! I just wanted to know how everyone's application experience is going so far? Hopefully we can answer each others questions and this thread can serve as a place to share experiences especially while waiting for decisions.
I have my background check completed, my fingerprinting is in process, and I'm taking the HESI this week. I am super nervous!
I can't wait to hear from any of you who are applying! Don't be shy :) and good luck everyone!
Jsweet14 you have time to apply for CEP. Get your app in asap and then attend the CEP info session April 30th. Then you have to attend the CEP application session on June 2. If you get accepted then you will start university classes fall and the nursing program spring. Ya it's super frustrating knowing that we will now not graduate until FALL 2017 instead of August 2016 but we have to do what we have to do. The time will pass either way
I've applied to asu fall already (traditional because I really need to work this summer and they don't have a fall fast track, only summer fast track)
but I will still be applying to GCU fall fast track because I will get this summer to work and be able to do fast track and graduate a semester before I would at asu.
I prefer GCU because AT Still is 10 min away from my house while downtown for asu is over an hour away.
I am also with D.flores and jsweet14.... After everything they have put us through and the lack of concern they have shown for their actions I feel like it would be foolish to roll my application over. I don't trust them, and the nursing program accreditation is almost up so I am super worried they will lose it. Especially after this and how a lot of the current people attending the program feel.
They are going to email us and ask if we want our application to be pushed to the fall or pulled completely. ASU also has a 12 month fast track program. But it is really tough to get into and the program itself is insane I heard. You basically need a 4.0 to even be considered. But I think that is how it is with all of their programs.
I'm an ASU student and I believe the 12 month one is for RN to BSN.
It's not as hard to get in as people make it seem. They calculate an advancement score based on your gpa and your teas test results. It's a score between 1 and 2 and a 1.600 is considered competitive. I have a 1.769. My gpa is a 3.67 and I got an 84.7 on the teas so don't count yourselves out because the lowest advancement score to get in last year was 1.71 so that person got either a lower gpa and/or teas than I did :) asu can definitely still be an optio

Having a hard time finding anything! Looking like spring may be my only option too. Especially since I'm not even on the maricopa wait list yet
