GCU Fall 2015 Transfer Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!!

I am applying to GCU for the Fall Fast Track program at the AT Still campus, but I heard it is super hard to get in as a transfer, especially at the AT Still campus. Wanted to reach out and see if there are any other GCU transfer hopefuls? Wondered if we could compare stats, tips, desired campuses, etc. :) I am just so nervous!

Aznurseg and d.flores will you let me know how you like the gcc/nau route? I'm trying to decide if I should go nau or asu with the cep! Thanks!

For sure! I would of chose ASU but it's double the price

Transfer student here who got the shaft for this summer session - just got an email saying I'm on the alternate list. To be honest I'm not sure if I'd accept even if I got in - ASU seems much better regarded from what I've heard and I'm pretty competitive for the Spring 1 year program there.

I'm a transfer, I knew I wasn't going to get in but it still sucked getting the email.

I haven't received anything from GCU. Not surprised though

I figured it'd be a flat rejection, so I'm surprised by that at least. GCU seems like its spiraling in a bad way so I'd have to think veeeery carefully about attending on the long-shot chance of getting in.

I really am hoping that the poster Maycation was confusing AT Stills with ABQ location....please let us know Maycation what you heard!

My advisor said something about them losing their clinical partnership with the NM hospital and if they couldn't find anything else, which wasn't likely at the time, they may close it. But I guess everything worked out!

Oh hmm. Yeah everything seems to be ok here hopefully! We really need this campus here as there is a limited amount of BSN programs.

Clinicals wise, everything at the ABQ campus was resolved. There was some issue with UNMH and scheduling I believe but it was quickly resolved. Plus, we do have Pres and Lovelace for clinicals and GCU has a good relationship with Pres. The major issue is that GCU gets last choice for clinicals, so what is available to us is limited.

@ApricotTea I should have asked you about ABQ. You would have known haha. I got so much mixed information about everything. It has been crazy! I'm glad everything worked out with clinicals.

yeah they made us waste our time and money applying, when for sure they already know they won't be accepting transfers. I'm just very disappointed that I only applied to gcu! pls if any one know any information where and when can I apply to other nursing school pls tell me.. I know it's already too late to apply but I just don't know what to do..I can't just sit here and waste a semester.

You might be able to apply for the CEP program for University of Phoenix or Franklin Pierce. Those are held at Estrella Mountain, GCC and Scottsdale Community College. Call and speak to an advisor.
