GCU Fall 2015 Transfer Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!!

I am applying to GCU for the Fall Fast Track program at the AT Still campus, but I heard it is super hard to get in as a transfer, especially at the AT Still campus. Wanted to reach out and see if there are any other GCU transfer hopefuls? Wondered if we could compare stats, tips, desired campuses, etc. :) I am just so nervous!

@NurseAlia2Be, I don't have enough topic posts to pm you, but I am hoping to contact you since I know you and I are in the same boat in regards to starting in the Fall at the ABQ campus. I am having quite a time trying to stay on top of everything necessary by the deadlines and I am in touch with our admissions rep, but well....there are some dead-end links and whatnot I am being sent to work with. I would like to keep in touch with you so we can share our information, if thats cool with you! Please email me at [email protected]

I totally agree with you! I am also going to GCC/NAU but weekends. What's days are you going?]

I will be attending GCC/NAU evenings....the schedule looks like Tuesdays will be lecture, Wednesdays will be lab with a Friday or Saturday clinical. I'm really looking forward to it! Hopefully, I'll be able to continue working full-time for at least the first year, at least that's my goal!

Aznurseg and d.flores will you let me know how you like the gcc/nau route? I'm trying to decide if I should go nau or asu with the cep! Thanks!

Absolutely! So far, it's been a far better experience. Advisors have been truthful and upfront, which I greatly appreciate. If you're wanting to start sooner, consider getting yourself on the Maricopa waitlist ASAP and then register for an upcoming CEP info session. There will be sessions coming up to attend University of Phoenix and Franklin Pierce University. You can still start in the fall with the university and attend your clinical portion starting in January 2016 with the rest of us who just got accepted!

cool! Maybe I will see you at clinicals 😃 I will have clinicals Saturdays and/or Sunday's

Sweet! We may even run into each other at orientation! I know I'll be going on July 18th, due to work on that Friday!

Do you have a contact number? I have talked to an advisor and she is I think specifically work for NAU so she told me I can't apply for this fall. If you could possibly send me contact or more info to that cep I'll be really thankful!

Really? Thank you for your reply. you're giving me so much hope now! pls tell me how do I get in the Maricopa wait list/pool?

Ok..so all you need to do is turn in unofficial transcripts and your Hesi scores to an advisor. You may need to attend an orientation for the Maricopa colleges first. The school of your choice may have a specific day where they take walk-ins for advisement. For more info, go to: https://asa.maricopa.edu/departments/healthcare-education-at-the-maricopa-community/maricopanursing-programs , you can call the Nursing Hotline ( all info on the website.)

I had an overall gpa of 3.7 or 3.8 and an overall Hesi score of 90%. I attend school at the Banner Boswell location. I'm not sure how much this information will help, as I believe acceptance is now based on a "lottery," system? I am wishing you all the best!
